Privacy Policy
Effective August 24, 2026. This policy explains what information this website collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with. It applies only to mavericklawoffice.us, not to anything you tell us by phone, in person, or after you become a client, which is covered by the engagement agreement and the Washington Rules of Professional Conduct instead.
Information we collect
If you use the contact form on this site, we collect what you enter: your name, phone number, email address, the county your matter is in, your next court date (if you give one), the name of the other party (so we can run a conflict check), whatever you write in the message box, and whether you've agreed to receive text messages or emails from us. We only ask for what we need to get back to you and check for conflicts. The form is deliberately built to discourage you from typing in details about your case.
We also get the ordinary technical information any website receives just from being visited: things like your browser type and general access times, collected automatically by our hosting provider. We don't use this information to track you individually or build a profile; it's the standard byproduct of running a website, not something we go looking at.
This form isn't a secure way to send us your case
Filling out the contact form does not create an attorney-client relationship and does not make us your attorneys. We can't represent you until a conflict check is done and both sides have signed a written fee agreement. Please don't send confidential information or details about your case through this form. If your matter is time-sensitive, including an upcoming court date or filing deadline, call us directly at (509) 563-7400 instead of using the form.
How we use your information
We use what you submit to respond to your inquiry, run a conflict check against our current and former clients and matters, and decide whether we're able to help you. If you've checked the box agreeing to text or email communications, we may also use your phone number or email address to follow up about your inquiry that way. We don't use anything you submit for advertising, and we don't build marketing profiles from it.
Who we share it with
We don't sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, for any reason. A small number of outside companies handle parts of how this website works, and see information only as needed to do that job:
Netlify hosts this website and processes contact form submissions on our behalf, delivering them to us by email. Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used on this site; loading them causes your browser to make a request to Google's servers, which, like any web request, can include technical information such as your IP address. We don't otherwise use Google's services on this site, and we don't run any advertising or analytics trackers here.
We may also disclose information if required to by law, court order, or to protect the safety of a person, but that's not something we expect this data to ever be used for.
Cookies
This site does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts of its own, and we don't track you across other websites. Our hosting provider may use minimal technical cookies necessary to deliver the site securely, but nothing here is used to build an advertising profile.
How long we keep it
If we take you on as a client, information from your inquiry becomes part of your client file and is kept according to our normal file-retention practices. If we're not able to help you, we keep enough information to maintain our conflict-of-interest records, as attorneys are required to do, and don't hold onto the rest longer than we need to.
Your choices
If you've agreed to receive text messages or emails from us, you can opt out at any time: reply STOP to a text message, or contact us directly to be removed from an email list. Agreeing (or not) to these communications never affects whether we can represent you. You're also welcome to contact us to ask what information we have on file for you.
Children's privacy
This website is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information submitted through this site, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. That's one more reason not to send confidential case details through the contact form.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
